• About Us

The Georgia Academy of Audiology is a professional organization of audiologists and friends of the audiology community that promotes quality hearing and balance care by advancing the profession of audiology through leadership, advocacy, education, public awareness, and support of research.*

GAA operates to protect the professional scope of practice for Audiologists in the state of Georgia through the employment of our amazing lobbyists at Nelson Mullins, including Helen Sloat and Stan Jones. We aim to provide continuing education for our state's audiologists through our annual convention or virtual conference series. GAA is a fantastic way to provide member networking where you have the opportunity to meet who you might refer patients to and build lasting friendships. If you're wondering "Why should I join this association if I am already a member of one or more of the national audiology associations?", the answer is that state audiology associations function quite differently as these monitor state legislative activity that directly affects the day to day practice of an audiologist in Georgia.

*We would like to acknowledge and thank the American Academy of Audiology for their inspiration in creating a mission statement that we have adapted for our state association.
